Dear BISDS staff, teachers, youths and students
On behalf of the Buddhist Institute Sunday Dhamma School, I would like to express our gratitude for your help, arrangements and assistance in ensuring we had a very successful Wesak.
I know all of you worked in a very hectic schedule to ensure all planned programmes for WESAK was a success.
Indeed it was! The exhibition, the colouring competition, performances by the dance, harmonica, youth choir groups, sketches by Subuthi 2 and Tissa 1 were all well received and very entertaining. Excellent! Team leaders keep it up.!!!!!!!!
Fund raising
In spite of the long weekend we managed to raise a bit of money from the sales of candles and t-shirts. We will communicate the amount raised at the next Exco/Staff meeting. The combined efforts from each and everyone both staff/teachers and students have enabled us to achieve the targeted amount.
We have decided that proceeds from the sales of bookmarks made by our students from Mahinda 1 & 2 will be channeled for the cyclone and earthquake victims in Myanmar and China thru BMV.
Procession
We need to improve in this area as the participation of BISDS staff; youths & students were not encouraging.
Our Appreciation
We are very honored by your kind intentions and we thank you for the wonderful assistance you have rendered. What we are doing is just a drop in the Ocean, but the ocean would be less because of this missing drop…! In this life, we cannot do great things; we can only do small things with great love…. Let “Peace and Love” prevail.
Staff Sanghika dana – 25th May 2008
I would like to invite all of you to participate in the Staff Dana on 25th May 2008 at BMV. Please bring along cooked food by 11.00am ( Vegetarian and non veg dishes would be preferred/fruits,desserts and etc) Approximately 30 monks wud be present. Since the cook is on leave we need your presence early to prepare and set-up. Please liaise with Sis Koh Yik Siang or Sis Shirley Wong to inform them of the food items that you wish to offer for the dana.
Please come along with your family members.
10th anniversary – Youth CFC – 26th May 2008
The BISDS youth group have extended an invitation to all staff & teachers. They will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the CFC on 26th May 2008 at 8.00pm at the Asoka Hall. Your presence will be appreciated.
May the blessings of the Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha be with you and your family always.
